Collaboration is a key to success and success is always a team effort. This is true in your professional life (skills growth, team work ethic, company scale, customer success etc.) and in you personal life (romantic partners, friends, siblings, families etc.). When you identify a gap, (or a hole in the boat) you should make it known, present solutions, jump in to assist or take other actions to help, even if the affect isn’t immediately on you. I have been at companies that do not have a collaborative culture. Whether it is hubris and arrogance, or interpersonal conflict, this hurts the organization in the end and makes for a less satisfying work environment.  Assuming nothing is your problem because there is no current affect is a mistake.  Specifically if you are in a customer facing team, it is imperative you climb into the boat with the customers. And when the boat gets a hole in it, you do everything you can to help the customer bail out the water, stop the leak, and use any tools you can to ensure the customers are able to stay afloat. So, if you find yourself in a leaky boat, whether internally or externally, let people know and find a fix! You are all in the boat together, so plug the holes together or you will sink together.
